Guyana Eco/Nature Trip 2015
We headed to Guyana to visit an Amerindian reservation community - Santa Mission and then to Arrowpoint Nature Resort. The drive to the Marina was about an hour and the ride on the boat to Santa Mission was also another hour. The Amerindians are Arawaks, the peaceful tribe. As we walked through the settlement, there was not much activity. The kids were at the primary school, while some persons could be seen having a late breakfast in their porch. At Arrowpoint Nature Resort, about ten minutes ride from Santa Mission, we hiked, kayaked and mountain biked followed by a dive into the refreshing river. We also had a lovely lunch and some snacks throughout the day. Overall, a very educational and fun day!
